Things to do in Kranjska Gora
Kranjska Gora sits at 810 metres in the Julian Alps, close enough to the Austrian and Italian borders that snow reliably settles from December, which is why it ranks alongside Vogel and Krvavec as one of Slovenia's main winter bases.
Lift passes run in the range of EUR 35-45 for a day, and the resort mixes gentle nursery slopes with longer red and black runs, plus a cross-country track used for World Cup Nordic events. Cross-country and biathlon trails add to the draw for a slower winter pace, and there is a floodlit toboggan run for evenings.
This page covers the resort in its snow season; the Vrsic pass that climbs out of town is closed by snow in winter and is covered separately, as is the Soca valley on its far side.
