Things to do in Ljubljana

Most visitors lean heavily on four or five of them.

Architect Jože Plečnik reshaped a plain single bridge into three parallel spans in the twentieth century, and the design became the centrepiece of the urban work he left across the city centre — now inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list alongside the riverside quays and the National and University Library.

The upper viewpoint and the walk down are covered by the same small entry fee in KM as the rest of the park; the lower riverbank where most visitors swim is included in that same ticket, though sun loungers and kayak rental cost extra in peak summer.

Most operators run the stretch around Bovec and Kobarid with beginner-friendly rapids and a guide in every raft, though a reasonable level of fitness and comfort in cold, fast river water is still expected.
